1950's US Made Marx Mickey Mouse The Musician Xylophone Player Wind Up W/ OB NMC - $475 - (Fresno, CA)
Today, I have this scarce toy to offer you. A Louis Marx "Mickey the Musician" Xylophone Player in it's original box. This toy is the larger version of the two different Mickey Mouse Xylophone players. This toy is approximately 12 inches tall. A nice sized toy that displays wonderfully. This toy works incredibly well, with a strong wind up. The stop/start switch works. Mickey hits the xylophone's bars at 2-3 beats per second. While he plays no particular song, he does manage to make a nice sound utilizing all 5 bars. Mickey kinda moves around side to side to accomplish this. It's a fun toy to watch. Both mallets are originals. In fact, I do not see any replacement parts. Plus, there is no rust or corrosion on the tin parts. No damage or flaws to any part of this toy. The original box is in very good condition. No missing or torn flaps. Only some slight shelf wear, worn edges, wrinkling, etc... I would rate the box a C-8+, and the toy a C-9+ Excellent-near mint condition. I have several of this toy. Otherwise, I would never be willing to part with this one, for it is a very special toy...
