c1960s Snowmobile Racing in Adirondack Mtns NY postcard - Bombardier SKI DOOs!! - $5 - (Jacksonville, NY)

SCENE: A great view of snowmobile racing in the Adirondack Mountains in New York State - this card dates back to the early days of the snowmobile era, and is an intriguing view of several early Bombardier 'Ski-Doo' snowmobiles, riders, and spectators! After comparing some images of early Ski-Doos on the internet, I think the sleds visible in this scene are about the 1965 model. The lettering on the front of the sleds reads 'Bombardier SKI DOO'. Apparently a printer's error in an early Bombardier catalog led to 'Dog' being changed to 'Doo' at some point, and thus instead of the original 'Ski Dog', the more familiar name 'Ski Doo' was born! Maybe some of you can even identify one or more of the riders or spectators visible in the scene! Caption of the card back reads 'Adirondack Mts. - Snowmobile racing is one of the fastest growing sports in the snow-covered regions of northern New York State.'
