Meharry Medical College to Provide Free Dental Care to Nashville Residents at - N.A. - (Nashville, TN)
Meharry Medical College will mark Oral Health Day on Saturday, March 9 by providing free dental services to up to 600 uninsured or underinsured Nashville residents. Members of the Nashville community will be able to receive cleanings, extractions, oral hygiene and nutritional counseling and fillings. The event is organized annually by the Meharry Chapter of the Association of Dental Students (ASDA) in partnership with Remote Area Medical (RAM), a nonprofit provider of mobile medical clinics that delivers free dental, vision and medical care to those in need. Meharry’s School of Dentistry is the nation’s leading producer of African-American dentists. Meharry graduates carry on the college’s mission to serve the underserved. Eighty-three percent of dental alumni choose to practice in underserved communities throughout the United States.
