For your consideration, a beautiful five series Smith Corona Silent Super. The serial number is 5T 662925 X which means it was made in 1957 or early 1958. This model is Alpine blue. It's a lovely pastel shade like the one Dr. Seuss wrote on. So this is not only a world famous five series Smith Corona this is a Silent Super, the pinnacle. The best manual typewriters ever made were the five series Smith Coronas and the best typewriter in the five series was the Silent Super. It was their flagship model. Like what the Mustang is to Ford or the Corvette is to Chevy. They designed a typewriter that could stand head and shoulders above what any other typewriter makers could offer and they spent decades refining that design until they arrived at this model. Their overwhelming popularity is a testament to their success at this endeavor and because this typewriter was made when manual typewriters were the peak of office technology, it's still the best manual typewriter money can buy. If you want to buy a typewriter, you might as well buy the best. This is an American classic made in America with American steel. This typewriter has a new ribbon that prints a sharp black letter. There is a small dent in the upper left hand corner of the case. You can see it in the photos. It doesn't affect the function of the case I just wanted to point out in case you missed it. The user manual for this machine is a reprint. The outer cover is printed on quality cardstock and the inner pages are bright white paper. The manual itself is very informative, especially if you've never used a typewriter before. It also comes with a finger placement chart that explains proper typing technique.
