Antique Victorian Wood Dome Top Doll Trunk Litho Paper Salesman Sample? 17"x11" - $250 - (Elizabethton, TN)
For auction is a super nice 1800's period Antique doll Trunk in nice vintage condition, its a nice large size of 17" wide x 11" tall x 10" deep.Its wood with litho paper covered and has metal accents. Its missing 3 rollers on the bottom, one still attached. There is wear throughout the trunk with the major being on the front above the metal latch, please see pictures, very nice graphics on the inside with opening areas to store in,it even has a gloves box in the tray with opening door which is rarely seen and is why I feel it may be a salesman sample rather than a childs toy. Extreme detail, all doors are still attached, and graphics are nice and bright, still nice color and lots of detail to the trims. No major problems,but the leather side handles have worn off and missing, other than that it is a super nice example of a rare and hard to find childs doll trunk or possibly a salesman sample. Trunk has some dust from being stored in an attic probably for many years before it came to my collection, I have owned this for about 10 years and it has been packed away in a storage container the entire time I have owned it. It came from a sale from upstate new york.
