John Byron Unique Glass Paperweight - $99 - (Bloomington, IN)

From a family collection, here is an authentic John Byron handblown paperweight in a pattern style not often seen. It is solid black (a slight hint of blue perhaps) with a series of fine scribbled lines running horizontally around the globe – a welcome relief from many of the overdecorated PWs in the market place. It’s perfect for an office desk display. The paperweight creations of John Byron are prized for their design. Mr Byron was a longtime resident of Columbus, Mississippi, where he taught glassblowing, before settling down later in a Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, studio to continue creating glass masterpieces. The paperweight is clearly etched with ‘J BYRON/83’ on the perimeter of the flat bottom and is in very good condition with no discernible faults or flaws. This is one of the best! Dimensions: 2 ½” diameter x 2 ¼” tall Weight: 12.1 oz.
