1934 GE Electric 3 Speed Table Fan Model 49X491 Very Nice See Photos / Descript. - $215 - (Frederic, WI)
This is a 1934 General Electric 12" table fan Model 49X491. It is from an estate in NW Wisconsin near the village of Milltown. The fan was working but needed serviced. The following items has been serviced or replaced: new cloth covered twist wire from motor to switch, new twist cloth covered power cord, entire fan was disassembled and cleaned, fan blade cleaned ( this took 2 plus hours ), gearbox cleaned and packed with grease, switch cleaned, motor bushings checked and lubricated, base felt replaced and many other items cleaned, checked and lubricated. The fan will osculate or stand still as designed, fan blade is in great shape and it runs quiet with no vibration. The paint shows some wear after nearly 85 years but other than the paint everything is correct and ready to go. Buyer will need to put oil in the two reservoirs ( these are the two plated tubes on front and rear on motor). These were cleaned but not filled because they could leak during shipping. This is a very nice operating fan with no modifications, just needed service to allow it to operate correctly and safely. The fan weighs slightly over 15 1/2 lbs.
