Old Forest Service Identification TREE Sign DOUGLAS FIR - $30 - (Tignall, GA)

This is an old Forest Service sign. It is made of paper and measures approx. 9" x 11" . It is fairly thick paper stock which is approx. .014" thick as compared to regular blue-line which is approx. .003" thick. It reads as follows: "This Tree is a DOUGLAS FIR (Pseudotsuga Taxifolia) Douglas Fir is especially suitable for structural timbers, railroad ties, and flooring. The wood is harder, stronger, and more durable than pine........etc., etc., etc., PREVENT FOREST FIRES, Build Your Camp Fire In The Open." It is not dated. According to the information I've gathered this was the official FS emblem used from 1920-1938. This one shows some minor wear and light tears around the edges and there is a couple of tack/nail holes at the top within the emblem and staple holes at the top. I was told from the elderly couple that I acquired these from that they were in an old Forest Service building that they had bought years ago and that's where they have been stored until I got them. Please check out my other listings. I'm happy to combine/discount shipping charges on multiple purchases if you WAIT to be invoiced before paying. Thanks For Looking!
