Antique Cream and Hot Pink Crochet Bedspread 1905 Hand Spun Cotton - $250 - (Lubbock, TX)

This incredible bedspread was crocheted with West Texas cotton that was hand spun by the maker herself, a Mrs. Catherine Stanley, in 1905. Whether she also dyed the pink yarn, I do not know. Colors are natural cream and an almost hot pink. The technique is very fine with all the hot pink squares raised into ridges. This piece is in excellent condition with no stains, no holes. It has been kept in plastic for many years, so clean you would think it was made recently!Also included are 7 extra squares that were made but not used in the final piece.78" x 94"Full size
