Vintage DANIELL'S Salt & Pepper Shakers - Amber & Green Caps-Ribbed Glass Design - $7 - (Delmar, NY)

Daniell's salt and pepper shakers were patented in 1951. They are probably the best design for keeping salt and pepper dry, free-flowing and sanitary. Inside each cap there is a rubber liner that makes for a good seal over the holes. Both of these shakers are in the older RIBBED DESIGN glass. Each shaker has the Hazel Atlas mark with "408" embossed. One shaker also has a "1" and the other a "4" embossed. The GREEN shaker is in great condition except for slight eyebrow bend at the bottom of the plastic cap. It does NOT affect the cap sitting securely on the glass shaker. I suspect that the "AMBER" shaker was originally pink because the plastic under the spring cap is pink. The rest of the cap seems to have morphed into a rather even amber color, probably from being left for a long time in the sunshine. The amber cap also has an slight eyebrow bend at the bottom of the cap (identical to the green cap) as well as a bend on the top of the base of the cap. Because of the condition of this shaker I've lowered to price for this set by $3. The shakers stand 4 inches tall and are 2 1/2 inches wide. Buyer pays for postage.
