10" Hand Carved Dolls Using Reindeer Antler & Fur This is for one, new, old stock "Woman Dancer" doll created by the Chukchi Native of Russia. The face is hand-carved reindeer antler and the bodies are from the reindeer hides. I have several shown in the photos so you can see the slight difference there might be, usually only the front of the coat decoration but some in the fur coloring. I noticed the Dancer's usually have a signature of the artist on the box. Information on the Chukchi: The Chukchi are well known for their creativity crafting dolls as well as for their carved sculptures. Their talent has provided a much needed livelihood in a harsh and unrelenting homeland. They live just North of Magadan, Russia on the Northeast shores. These dolls have been created as a representation of their lifestyle.
