2 Pre-Columbian Chimu Woven Textiles in Lucite Display Case - $100 - (Prescott, AZ)

These textiles once belonged to a woman weaver from the Chimu Civilization of Peru, dating between 900 A.D. to 1500 A.D.The Chimu Civilization was the largest civilization to thrive in Peru, just before the Inca came to power around 1500 A.D. These textiles were uncovered near Chimbote in the early 1960's, beside weaving tools, and other textiles. They are believed to have once been a purse strap and purse. The blue and brown threads used to weave them are likely a mixture of spun Alpaca fur and cotton. They are beautifully encased within a lucite and wood display case, and displayed just as they were found. The display case measures 17.75" x 5.25", and is just under 1/2" thick.
