Hayward Performance Tackle is a premier lure manufacturing company based out of Hayward, Wisconsin. The HPT lures were first introduced in 2017 at the New England Saltwater Fishing Show. Their lures share similar attributes to the Strategic Angler lineup; both of which are designed by Merv Rubiano. Hayward Performance Tackle was designed with the striped bass, inshore, and freshwater fisherman in mind, while Strategic Angler custom lures cater to the large pelagic angler. Both feature a similar through wire design around an in-house molded solid core injection plastic body. HPT lures are manufactured, painted, and finished here in the U.S.A. They currently offer three lure styles in sizes ranging from 4 inches, 5 inches and 6.5 inches. The three models include the Genesis series (swimbait style), the Chubhead series (wakebait/walk the dog) and the Zouk series (twitch bait).
