hooded vessel fragment from Kentucky, artifacts, arrowheads - $17 - (Stephensport, KY)
Item - hooded vessel fragment Size - approx. 5" x 3" x 3-1/2" high Time period - Mississippian Period, 800 - 1,200 a.d. Provenance - In 1998, I acquired a HUGE box of pottery fragments of unbelievable variety! They all came from the estate of Robert Abell from Hickman Co., Kentucky. Many of the sacks and cigar boxes had "1961" (which was easy for me to remember as it's the year of my birth) although, 1 handle that I kept for myself has 12-31-54 written on it. All of these artifacts are Mississippian (800 - 1,200 a.d.) and were, in fact, collected from sites along the Mississippi River. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I have. Comments - This is a very sculptural and interesting fragment of a rare pottery form. combined shipping - yes
