sculptural pottery decoration from Kentucky , artifacts arrowheads - $3 - (Stephensport, KY)

This is an unknown form of pottery embellishment - I'm not sure what it was supposed to represent (if anything). It measures approx. 1-3/4" x 1-1/2" x 1". In 1998, I acquired a HUGE box of pottery fragments of unbelievable variety! They all came from the estate of Robert Abell from Hickman Co., Kentucky. Many of the sacks and cigar boxes had "1961" - which was easy for me to remember as it's the year of my birth. All of these artifacts are Mississippian (800 - 1,200 a.d.) and were, in fact, collected from sites along the Mississippi River. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I have. Combined shipping - yes
