1929 10 Panel Slag Glass ART DECO Chandelier Museum Quality All Original - $3,200 - (Oregon, IL)
This offering is for a 1929-10 panel curved caramel slag glass chandelier that was originally installed in the T. Ben & Nellie Loetscher home in Dubuque, Iowa. This home was built in 1929 thus being the determining factor in dating the fixture. The fixture is not marked so it could actually predate construction. Home was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1989. In reading the registry, I discovered the interior has been modified and remodeled over the years which would explain why this fixture was removed. The house was designed in 1924 by Architect C.I. Krajewski. Check the National Registry for some interesting reading and pictures. I have included 12 pictures. If you need more or have any questions, please use seller contact link below. There are absolutely no broken, cracked or (as far as I know) replaced panels. 10 beautiful matching caramel colored curved slag glass panels that are complimented on the bottom with 10 flat white/ red orange panels. Construction is 100% brass/bronze to include the striking filigree surrounding the base. The underside is equipped with 5 original pull chain sockets. The original wiring is still as it was when cut from the ceiling and will obviously need to be replaced before use. Also, the shade is dirty and will need a thorough cleaning. I have done nothing to the shade. In fact, it had a couple paper stickers on one panel and I just left them there. (see photos) Shade is 25 inches wide, 17.5 inches tall to the top of the mounting loop. The ceiling mounting hardware (original to the fixture and all brass including chain) is 17.5 inches long. The entire assembly weighs about 25.5 pounds. Using included materials, the drop from the ceiling to the base of the shade would be right at 35 inches. After the sale of the shade, I will deliver it to a local professional packaging/shipping service and have them pack & ship it for safe delivery to your destination. And needless to say, it will arrive fully insured. Packa
