Pair (2) ANTIQUE Vintage CAST IRON FINIALS FENCE POST GATE POLE * Acorn Design - $30 - (Hudsonville, MI)
Photo show everything. Not sure the age, but I'm quite sure they are fairly old. I am guessing from the 1940s or 1950s, but I don't know for sure. That is a guess. They appear to be very decorative finials from the top of fence posts or gate poles. Probably around a very expensive home back in the day. But I'm not sure. Each one is 7-3/5" tall and weighs over 2-1/2 pounds each, and I'm quite sure they are cast-iron. The oval openings you see are about 2-3/8" x 2-1/2". The bottom openings are approximately 1-3/4" x 2-1/16" and about 2-1/2" deep. I think the number you see in photo 2 is 28 Q. Not 100% positive, but looks like it, to me. Not sure what that would mean. The very tops are shaped like upside down acorns, as best as I can describe them. Whatever these are, they are cery nice vintage collectibles, for whatever purpose you would use them for. Photos show the true condition. Please look closely and ask any questions you may have.
