This preamp is a replica of the famous Altec 1566A from the 50's/60's. Two 12AX7 tube with a buffered output (included are 12AT7). This unit has HI-Z input and output... great for guitar or mic. This Preamp has a FULL tone stack which can be switched "in or out" as needed. The original units had balanced in and out with transformer, which can be added with ease. Excellent sound quality and very clean audio! You can have this unit for VERY much less than the vintage originals up for sale. Same great audio quality!! Questions always welcomed.
