Offering a rare 1940's Electro Voice Model Fifty Carbon Ring Spring Suspension Microphone. The element is mounted in a ring/spring rig suspended by 8 springs anchored to the ring which acted as a crude shock/vibration absorber. Mic comes with a nice vintage adjustable-height ATLAS desk stand with heavy cast iron base and chromed riser. The ring measures 6.5" in diameter, and the mic with stand measures 15"-19" in height. The element has viable surface patina, and it should be noted that this type of carbon element requires an external DC power supply, so it being sold for prop or display. American Microphone Company was an American microphone manufacturer and dealer in Southern California. They manufactured several microphone models, and marketed used and military communication mics.
