Lovely antique 'Mansion' pattern Staffordshire Blue Scenic Transferware Soup Bowl. This is a hard to find Staffordshire transferware pattern, sometimes found with an impressed mark 'Edwards Ironstone' and probably made by James & Thomas Edwards circa 1839 - 1841. This design is depicted in 'Staffordshire II, Romantic Transfer Patterns', by Petra Williams and Marguerite R. Weber. This scenic transferware pattern has a classical scene of urn and building. This is a flat rimmed Soup Bowl measuring 9 inches across, by 1-1/4 inches high at the rim. It is marked on the bottom with 'Mansion' in blue backstamp, and an impressed 'B'. Antique.
