Vintage African Amber Bakelite Trade Beads Necklace, Butterscotch Three African *Amber Trade beads on a 16" black cord necklace. The beads are butterscotch color with a faint patina. *Please note that these beads are not made from Amber, they are made from Phenol Resin (Bakelite) to resemble Amber. The beads react to Simichrome Polish --the same as Bakelite--leaving a yellowish tinge on the cotton swab. The total weight is 15 grams. The large bead measures approximately 22mm width; 15.5mm height. The smaller beads measure 17mm x 11.5mm Condition Very good. Minor wear, superficial scratches and patina that's consistent with use and age. No chips or cracks.
