For sale is an 1814 map of Spanish North America, Southern Part from Thomson’s New General Atlas. Beautiful large hand colored map of Central America from Bay of Honduras on the north to the Bay of Panama on the south, and includes Jamaica to the east. It is Plate 59 from the 1817 New World Atlas.The map itself measure 19 ¾” x 24”, the whole map is 22” x 28 ½” and is separated in places at the middle seam. There is some light soiling and some small tears and a small hole (1/4") along borders. John Thomson was a commercial map publisher in Edinburgh who specialized in guide books and atlases and is primarily known for his New General Atlas, first published in 1817. We have another Thomson's map listed, as well. We sell used items and what you think is important we may have unintentionally over looked.
