American Character Linda McCall Betsy's Cousin Playpal 1959 35" Doll - $125 - (Bacliff, TX)

You are viewing a rare Linda McCall doll by American Character. She is the twin sister of Sandy McCall and the cousin of Betsy McCall. She was made only one year in 1959. She is a 35 inch companion sized doll, like the popular Playpal dolls. For information on Linda McCall, please check page 158-159 in the American Character Doll Identification by Judith Izen. Often, people confuse the Betsy McCall with Linda McCall although they are not the same doll.Linda McCall is all vinyl, and marked on the back of her neck "American Character Doll Co. 1959." She has blue sleep eyes with full pretty lashes, brows, a closed smiling mouth. She is missing many hair plugs around the hairline and throughout and her bangs have been cut short -I do not know if her hair was cut other places. Her hair is pulled over to cover her short bangs and she is wearing a headband to match her cute red and white polka dot dress. The back of her feet are dented in probably from someone putting shoes on her. She has some minor scuffs and a line that runs down her torso and back -I believe this was from manufacturing. Her head and legs are tight and will hold their pose. Her arms are loose and will not hold a pose, her stringing could probably be tightened up.She is so cute with her little impish face. Please view all photos and zoom in for a good look, pictures are part of the description.
