PACO S-55 Wide Band Oscilloscope - $185 - (Parowan, UT)
This is a completely restored vintage - PACO S-55 Oscilloscope. This has been a major restoration job to say the least. Just about every component in this scope has been replaced (excluding the CRT and front panel controls) as the photo's will confirm. All the paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced along with numerous out of tolerance resistors. The two calibration potentiometers were also replaced with modern ones. All the tubes have been tested and any bad or weak tubes have been replaced. All the switches and other controls have been cleaned and lubricated where required and work smoothly. The front panel/screen illumination light works as can be seen in the photo's. A new AC line cord and polarized plug are included. After the restoration was completed, the oscilloscope was calibrated per the instructions in the manual ( included ). As seen in the photo's, this scope produces very clean wave forms. The cabinet is in need of a paint job. Please note that the cover panel for the cut out on the rear of the cabinet is not included so this can be a safety hazard. Also, the screws for securing the cabinet to the chassis ( the two screw holes at the bottom rear of the cabinet) are not included. This scope should provide may years of good service for those tech's who enjoy working with vintage test equipment such as this PACO S-55. As an historical note, PACO was a division of "Precision Apparatus CO, INC". who made some of the most reliable and most famous test equipment "back in the day" such as - their famous E-200-C signal generator and their E-400 Sweep Generator ( which I own one of each). These instruments were sold as "factory wired only" and not sold as kits and, used primarily by professional service people and institutions which speaks highly of their design integrity and reliability.
