Rare Antique Boesch Lamp Co. Nautical Lamp w/ Red Fresnel Lens San Francisco - $485 - (Shawnee on Delaware, PA)

For auction is a rare nautical lamp manufactured by Boesch Lamp Company of San Francisco.Boesch began operations in 1869 and were in business through 1920. I believe the lamp is made of copper. It could be very tarnished brass. Whichever, a magnet does not adhere to any part of the lamp. The burner (a Dietz Convex) is removed by depressing the three clips on the bottom. There are also rings on both sides at the bottom for lashing the lantern down and brackets on the back for securing it to some form of bracket. The red fresnel lens has one small chip on the next-to-the-bottom ring that is difficult to see and does not detract from the aesthetics of the lamp. The lamp is approximately 17 3/4" tall to the top of the ring. It is 7 1/2" in diameter at the bottom. There are three small age splits in the copper but they don't affect the structural integrity in the least. All in all, this is a great lamp.
