Falstaff museum replica beer stein Measures: 11" tall X 6" wide including the handle X 4.5" D at the base This stein comes with an interesting historical background card. It is a replica of the steins originally made in the Westerwald area of Germany. The card states this is made from a unique clay known as stoneware. Stoneware unlike earthenware would become shiny and hard after being fired and would let no moisture be absorbed making it ideal for liquids. It is marked "1971". It is quite heavy and has a pewter lid. There are no chips, cracks or crazing but there is some color from use. No damage and lid opens and closes nicely. e-mail with questions.
