Though it is not a miniature of a famous painting like many of these and their matching compacts, it is well done and I truly wish had been signed by the artist*** ***Many of my findings were discovered on the David and Noelle website under their heading of Italian 800 Compacts*** > Age- Probably 1940 - 1970 (As all of these were despite what others might be advertising) :)> Theme- Romantic Scene between a Colonial Man and Woman> 800 Silver- because pure silver would have been too soft to take the high temperature required to fire the enamel> Gold plated vermeil- > Engraved floral scrolling on three sides and ends> Imitation Lapis Lazuli button/closure> Imitation hand painted Turquoise on either side of central scene> Markings- on inside slide engraved (800); opposite side engraved number "6"> Unsigned (unless underneath some of the lipstick all over the inside) but follows the same detailing and design of Bellini, Fallaci, Coppini and Galletti> Contains what appears to be original lipstick (about 1/3)> Size- Approximately 2 3/8" Long x 3/4" Wide> Weight- Approximately 45 grams> Condition- Case is in outstanding condition with NO MISSING ENAMEL but could still use a good cleaning as the lipstick has found its way around the inside edges and sides (See Photos) This is in really great shape even with the tiny section of enamel that is missing. Perfect for someone looking for that simple statement to wear on a collar or lapel.
