9 Handpeeled, kiln dried log furniture logs. 2"-4" diameters, 48" long. Unsanded, unfinished. We have received numerous requests from customers who have purchased tenon cutters from us(see our Ebay store) for a raw log supply. We are now offering the same logs that we use in our furniture for sale. These logs are selected by Keith and cut from a forestry management tract. The logs are harvested to improve the quality of the remaining trees. They are then trucked back to our facility and handpeeled with drawknives. Each different worker combines their peeling style with the individual characteristics of the tree to make each log unique. The logs are then stacked in a kiln where heated air(solar in the summer, wood furnace in the winter) is circulated through the layered stack. Water is removed through venting and condensers. When the moisture content is 15-18% the logs are considered stabilized and moved from the kiln to our bulk wood storage building. They are restacked and room temperature air is circulated through them until the finished moisture content is 8-12%. The drying process produces 'checks' or 'cracks' in all round log material. This is normal and will not continue once stabilization is achieved. They are now ready to be used in beautiful and functional log furniture. This bundle of logs weighs approximately 75 lbs.
