Antique Art Nouveau 10k Heart Swallow Pendant Necklace Garnet - $165 - (Allentown, PA)

Sweet 10k petite Art Nouveau heart necklace converted from a brooch circa 1910. Heart measures 7/8 " x 7/8" and has tiny seed pearls adorning half the heart and the swallow's wing.The swallow is carrying a small garnet in its mouth. The 14k chain attached is 16 1/4" long and with the heart attached it adds almost another 3/4" in room.This was given to a women as a love token . Victorian jewelry has it's own special language. The swallow represented fidelity, faithfulness because of the fact that swallows mate for life. The heart has an obvious meaning of love.
