ORIGINAL RPPC Maxim Gorky Children of the Sun Russian Play Chekov wife 1905 - $75 - (Shallotte, NC)

This stunning collection of fourteen photo postcards is from 1905. It consists of 14 photographs of the very first cast, in costume, ever to perform Maxim Gorky's play, Children of the Sun. One photo is of Olga Knipper, wife of Anton Chekov, who played "Lisa." Another is of Vasili Kachalov as Professor Protassov. These postcards were collected and mailed, by a mutual friend, to Alfred La Liberte, a well-known Canadian pianist, who was in Berlin at the time. The cards are all in very good condition, with clear images. They're much better looking than they are in my blurry photo, with better contrast.
