PRETTY PINK ROSES GOLD ENCRUSTED HAMMERSLEY SMALL TRINKET OR PIN DISH - $13 - (Greenport, NY)
Maker: This elegant gold encrusted nut or trinket dish is marked with the pink backstamp of Hammersley & Co, the iconic Stoke-on-Trent, England, china factory. Hammersley began production in 1932. In 1976 it merged with Royal Worcester, and the Hammersley brand was retired in 1982. Design: This pretty little scalloped trinket or pin dish features a wide band of gold surrounding a beautifully hand painted burst of roses, tulips and other flowers. The pattern is called Dresden Sprays. Size: The dish is 5 1/4 inches wide at its widest point. Condition: It shows its long life. There are no nicks, marks, or repairs, but there is a faint star crack on the reverse, crazing throughout, a chip on the reverse - shown in the photos with the penny - that is slightly visible from the front, several tiny scratches and the expected wear to the gold edge. Yet it remains a very beautiful object that would enhance any collection of porcelain or other quality items. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
